Workforce Development Initiative

Since 2002, our multi-county New York State organization’s professional Workforce Development Initiative (W.D.I) has been a very prosperous area of our operations. The 16-week program has been offering professional knowledge and experience to college, pre-college, and graduate students with professional onsite experiences in various areas of the nonprofit’s operations, with a high emphasis on Arts Administration. The program is renowned, locally, nationally, and internationally, for its reputation as a generator for eventual full and part time jobs and professional pathways for the participants of the program, both internally and externally. 

Participants of the W.D.I. are offered work in the following departments: office administration, database development, advancement, events, arts programming, fundraising, marketing, communication, and public relations. The program is very flexible and adaptive to the needs and interests of the participants, which make it such a unique opportunity for young people at the beginning of their professional careers.
